Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains how Dergal Ltd ("Dergal", "I", "me") collects and uses personal information through dergal.co.uk and the Dergal WhatsApp assistant. Dergal Ltd is registered in England and Wales (company number 16265859) and is based in Redhill, Surrey. Gerry White is the data controller. For anything privacy-related, email [email protected].
What I collect
- When you contact me by email, the website or WhatsApp: your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell me.
- The WhatsApp assistant: when you message Dergal on WhatsApp, the assistant processes your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and your message so it can reply. If it can't answer a question, it stores that question with your number and name for up to 30 days so I can reply to you personally, then deletes it automatically. It also keeps short-lived counters (up to 3 days) to prevent duplicate or excessive replies.
- Website usage: the website platform may collect standard technical and analytics information, such as pages viewed and device type, to keep the site running and understand how it is used.
How I use it
I use your information to reply to you, provide services you have asked about, and keep the WhatsApp assistant working fairly. I don't sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing. The lawful basis is legitimate interests (replying to enquiries), or taking steps to enter a contract when you ask about services.
Who processes it
- Meta Platforms runs WhatsApp and its Business Platform.
- Cloudflare hosts the WhatsApp assistant.
- Duda hosts this website, and Google provides email.
These providers act on my instructions and may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or object to how I use it, by emailing [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
